LEGAL NOTICE OF ANNUAL SCHOOL ELECTION

WYNNE SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 9

CROSS COUNTY, ARKANSAS

Notice is hereby given that the annual school election in the above-named school district will be held May 9, 2023, to select one member to the school board of directors for the Zone 4 position from the following candidates:

MICHAEL HIRONS

JIM HUFF

Only registered voters that reside in Zone 4 will vote in this election. The vote on school millage will be held in a special election on August 8, 2023.   The Cross County Board of Election Commissioners has declared that Early Voting will be held in the Cross County Courthouse Annex Building beginning Tuesday, May 2, and ending Monday, May 8, with no Saturday voting.  The hours for Early Voting are 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.

Election Day voting, May 9, will be held from 7:30 a.m. until 7:30 p.m.  There will be two vote centers open in the county on election day, the Cross County Courthouse Annex Building and the Cherry Valley Food Pantry.

 On Tuesday, May 9, the opening and processing of absentee ballots will begin at 6:00 p.m.  Early votes will be counted at 7:30 p.m. followed by the counting of the absentee ballots. 

A list of appointed election officials will be posted at the office of the County Clerk on April 24.  An objection to a poll worker can be made by filing a written complaint to the Cross County Board of Election Commissioners at the office of the county clerk within ten (10) days after the list of officials is posted.
