QUORUM COURT MEETING DECEMBER 16, 2019

 

The Cross County Quorum Court held a regular meeting May 20, 2019 in the lobby of the Cross County Courthouse at 6:00 p.m.  Judge Donnie Sanders called the meeting to order.  Prayer was said by Justice Jerry Brewster and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited.  The roll was called and all Justices were present.  Justice Lynn Blake made a motion to approve the minutes for November 2019 with Justice Doug Kennon seconding the motion.  A voice vote was taken and all Justices were in favor.

Building Committee Report:  Justice Doug Kennon reported the bids for the new jail have gone out and should be returned within 30 days.

Budget Report:  No Report

Road/Bridges Committee Report:  No Report

Personnel Committee Report:  No Report

An Ordinance to be entitled:  AN ORDINANCE TO ADOPT NEW EMPLOYEE STARTING WAGES FOR CROSS COUNTY EMPLOYEES TO BECOME ACTIVE JANUARY 1, 2020.  The Ordinance was read by Justice Lynn Blake.  A motion was made by Justice Lynn Blake with Justice Carl Loewer seconding it.  The roll was called and all Justices voted yes.  Ordinance #2019-30 has been duly adopted and recorded in the Quorum Court Book of Records.

An Ordinance to be entitled:  AN ORDINANCE TO ESTABLISH THE ADDITIONAL MOTOR FUEL TAX FUND (ACT 416 OF 2019); AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.  The Ordinance was read by Justice Carl Loewer.  A motion was made by Justice Lynn Blake with Justice Gary Eakin seconding it.  The roll was called and all Justices voted yes.  Ordinance #2019-31 has been duly adopted and recorded in the Quorum Court Book of Records.

An Ordinance to be entitled:  AN ORDINANCE WITH STARTING SALARIES OF ALL COUNTY ELECTED OFFICIALS 2020.  The Ordinance was read by Justice Doug Kennon.  A motion was made by Justice Carl Loewer with Justice Jerry Brewster seconding it.  The roll was called and all Justices voted yes.  Ordinance #2019-32 has been duly adopted and recorded in the Quorum Court Book of Records.

 

A motion to adjourn was made by Justice Gary Eakin and seconded by Justice Gloria Aldridge.  A voice vote was taken and all Justices were in favor.  Meeting was adjourned.
