Cross County Information

Cross County was formed in November 1862 to become the 53rd county formed in Arkansas. We are located in the eastern region of central Arkansas. Cross County encompasses 626 miles with a population of just under 20,000 and our county seat is Wynne. Cross County is named after Confederate Colonel David C. Cross, a political leader in the area.

Rice is our largest sector of revenue, followed by soybeans, cotton, and peaches. We boast two beautiful parks, the nearly 7,000 acre Village Creek State Park and the Parkin Archeological State Park that offers over 100 acres of historical exploration.
